FREE STATE. – A man, 76, and his wife, 73, were discovered dead on their farm near Glen by police on Saturday after a neighbour was unable to reach them on their mobile phones.
Sers. Mahlomola Kareli says the worried neighbour called the police.
The farmhouse doors were open. The floors were bloodied and the house was ransacked. However, the couple was not in the house. A men’s hunt was immediately launched throughout the night to track down the couple and the suspects.
The man’s body was found about 300 yards from the home and his wife’s body in the septic tank. They had open wounds on their bodies and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Tools and electronic items were stolen from the home. The late couple’s Toyota Land Cruiser was found near Brandfort.
Glen police are investigating cases of house robbery and murder.
