This quote explains the German mindset. It needs a bit of explaining. I don’t know the exact German, but the quote sends this message: It is a soldier’s mindset. It is better to have an end with horror (e.g. die in a war), than a horror without end (like the blacks of SA). The actual quote in German sends this message: It is better to suffer for a purpose than to suffer for no purpose. The English version of it below does not do the German justice.
