SA: Crime: Drugs worth R1 million seized, Potchefstroom

Six suspects, aged between 28 and 35, are expected to appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 December 2020, on a charge of dealing in drugs.
The suspects were arrested on Wednesday, 23 December 2020, in the early hours of the morning, after information was received, leading police to Extension 11, Ikageng. The Potchefstroom Flying Squad in collaboration with the Potchefstroom Crime Prevention, acted quickly and seized 59 kg of dagga and more than 200 tablets, suspected to be Mandrax, all with estimated street value of more than R1 million.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena congratulated the members for their quick response that led to this success. Furthermore, he urged members of the community to be the eyes and ears of the police as this will save the lives of the innocent by reporting suspected criminal activities at their local police stations or calling Crime Stop number: 08600 10111.
