For 2 days now, the suburb I’m in has had no water. It started yesterday. There was an enormous leak. Then last night they managed to get the water going … but then today … for some reason I don’t understand the "fix" of yesterday did not work. So we were without water most of the day and it’s night time now and we still have nothing.
Can you believe that in a city of 20 million people – Johannesburg – we have 1 welder who can work on our water pipes!!!! Yes, only 1 guy is capable of welding the water pipes. Some distance from me, a few KM away, are 2 water leaks on a road that have been there since the beginning of the year! Cars can’t drive properly down that road, and when I drive there, I take a detour away because they’ve not only never fixed the leaks but even where they did some work, they haven’t put the tar back on the road and you have to crawl through a partial hole.
