S.Africa: White man murdered by Blacks, body tossed down a Mine Shaft 1,000m DEEP – My Comments

[I've been following this story closely because I know someone linked to this. This is a horrific case. This white man went to the pub after work and was never seen again. 2 Blacks have been arrested for this. But Whites have been doing the impossible. They've had specialist divers go 1,000m down into this mine shaft (this is 1Km underground – an insane depth) and they had to go through hundreds of metres of water and they did find evidence that this white man was tossed in there. NEWS Specialized divers have recovered a body from a ventilation shaft dusk side Khuma, believed to have for the first time.

Klerksdorp Rekord has reliably heard that the team, which includes divers from as far as Durban and Cape Town, has decided not to continue with the recycling attempt, because of the risks associated with it.

A body that may be that of the missing farmer Deon Nel, was believed to have been seen during a previous exploration in the water under the shaft. It now appears the body has sank further into the water pool and is too deep for divers to reach. It is estimated that the water is more than 1,000 m deep. Deep dive scuba divers only dive to depths of about 40m, after which it becomes life-threatening.

The divers were tasked by Nel’s family to bring the body to the surface. Blood and drag marks found at the entrance to the ventilation shaft led to suspicion that Nel’s body, who went missing in July, was thrown into the shaft.

According to Col Adele Myburgh of North West Police, DNS results are not available yet to say with certainty that it is him.

An eighteen-year-old boy and a woman (26) arrested in Randlespark shortly after Nel’s disappearance are due to appear in court again on August 21. Their identity is still withheld.
