S.Africa: Farm attack, couple overpowered, assaulted, wife abducted, Boschkop

A farm attack took place in the early hours of 1 July 2021, on a farm in the Boschkop area, South East of Pretoria, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. A couple were overpowered and assaulted in their home by an unknown number of attackers. The man suffered severe wounds to his head and his wife was assaulted, tied up and abducted.
After ransacking the home and the farm, a number of household items and ten sheep were loaded into a vehicle along with the man’s wife.
The injured man was left at the home while the attackers took his wife with them.
The attackers went and offloaded the stolen items and took the the woman to an ATM where she was forced to draw money.
The man had in the interim raised the alarm and all roleplayers responded. The man’s wife, who was then released by the attackers, was able to drive back to the farm.
Tracker along with the SAPS and Kapanga security company followed up leads which led to the recovery of all then stolen items including the sheep.
One attacker was arrested.
The man was hospitalised for medical attention.
