S.Africa where Cops are CRIMINALS! – New Brighton Warrant Officer arrested for dealing in copper cables

[Welcome to South Africa. Life after Liberal Liberalism. Jan]A Warrant Officer, Roger Mario Kivido (53), stationed at New Brighton police station as a court orderly was arrested on Friday, 22 January 2021 for allegedly dealing in copper cables.
The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team received a tip off on 11 October 2020, regarding a police officer in full uniform, driving a marked police vehicle who was selling copper cables at a local scrapyard along Grahamstown Road, in Port Elizabeth.
Preliminary investigation was carried out at the scrapyard in a form of an enquiry. As a consequence of evidence gathered confirming the officer’s illegal dealings a case was then registered at a local police station on Thursday, 21 January 2020 and a warrant for his arrest authorized by the local Magistrate was secured shortly afterwards.
Kivido made his court appearance in the New Law Magistrate’s Court on Friday. The case has been remanded to Thursday, 28 January for a bail application, whilst Kivido remains in custody.
