South Africa’s retail sales down 1.8% year on year in October

South African retail sales fell 1.8% year on year in October following a revised 2.4% contraction in September, Statistics South Africa said on Wednesday.

On a month-on-month basis sales were down 0.2%, and in the three months to the end of October sales fell 2.8% compared with the same period last year, the statistics agency said.
