[Dreadful. Old Afrikaans ladies. The arrested criminal is Black. Jan]A 59 year old widow of Upington was attacked and raped in a home invasion attack that happened in the Keidebees neighbourhood in the early hours of Sunday morning 24 January, 2020. The attacker fled with some cash. Two other elderly widows were also murdered in their houses in Upington in the last 6 months.
Judy Redelinghuys (71) was murdered on 30 June in her house in Budler street. Her daughter Leanne Arnon found her mother in the swimming pool with her hands tied behind her back. A man from Louisvale Road, Nkosinathi Ntombela, was arrested in connection with her murder.
Hannatjie Kruger (80) was murdered in her son’s house in Middelpos, Upington on 16 November 2020. Her daughter Marika Nel discovered her body. Nobody has been arrested in connection with that murder.
