EFF leader Julius Malema continued to pour cold water on the Government of National Unity (GNU).
Malema said the “so-called GNU” was a way of wanting to impose on South Africans on what he called an “imperialist bourgeois democracy”.
He said those who were controlling the means of production wanted people to believe that democracy was when one political organisation occupies the Union Buildings for only one term.
The Red Berets’ leader continued to say that the 7th administration set-up was not a real GNU.
“This can’t be a Government of National Unity if it doesn’t involve everyone. Mandela’s Government of National Unity involved everyone… Mandela’s GNU was a genuine GNU. This one is a grand coalition of the DA and the ANC, and it is not an ANC initiative,” added Malema.
Furthermore, the EFF leader accused the ANC of allowing itself to perpetuate the interests of the “imperialist forces and colonisers” by getting into bed with the colonisers. He was referring to the DA.
He said as the EFF, they were not going to retreat, no matter how much they get ridiculed.
“The DA said ‘Moonshot’. When the ‘Moonshot’ failed it went to mobilise the ANC, but the agenda is still the same. The agenda is to achieve the objective of the ‘Moonshot’,” Malema said.
The ANC’s decision to form the GNU with the DA continues to draw flak from all quarters.
One such organisation that has continually raised its dissatisfaction with the decision was the SACP.
The SACP’s general secretary Solly Mapaila continued his scathing criticism of the GNU over the weekend, where the party celebrated its 103rd anniversary.
Both Mapaila and the Alliance partners slammed the ANC for cosying up to what they called “white monopoly capital”, with the purpose of forming the GNU.
